Assembles All-Star Team

PALO ALTO, Calif., June 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Teknowledge Corporation (OTC Bulletin Board:
TEKC) has been awarded a $12 million dollar contract to develop the Next Generation Internet
("Internet 2"). Teknowledge is a prime contractor for the integration, evaluation, demonstration and
transfer of technologies being developed under the Quorum Global Distributed Computer program.
Quorum is part of the Defense Advanced Research Project Agency ("DARPA") Internet 2 program,
which is defining a revolutionary approach to improving the quality of service in network-based
computing. DARPA created the original Internet in the 1960s.

Neil Jacobstein, President and Chief Operating Offer, said: "We see this Internet 2 contract as
strategic to our Distributed Systems Engineering and E-Commerce Systems business units. It
represents an extraordinary technical and business opportunity. The contract requires Teknowledge
to commercialize the products of its R&D work, specifically quality of service (QOS) extensions to
the Windows NT(TM) operating system."

John Connell, Teknowledge's Distributed Systems Engineering Program Manager, said: "We are
assembling an all-star team for our Quorum Internet 2 contract. We have already recruited Dr. Slava
Vaynman from Netscape Corporation, and several other key players inside Teknowledge. We are
currently searching for an outside project leader who has outstanding technical vision, distributed
systems integration experience and project management skills."

Frederick Hayes-Roth, Chairman and CEO, commented, "Teknowledge is already deeply involved
in creating the Next Generation Internet or Internet 2. We are playing a central role in the DOD's
Next Generation Information Infrastructure, and we are now in a position to take a leadership role in
the Internet 2 component integration and quality of service software. We will pursue several high
value technical and business opportunities to leverage this key contract."

Teknowledge's contract contains one option which, if exercised, will bring the total cumulative value
of the contract to approximately $25M. Work is expected to be completed in September 2001. The
contract was competitively selected, with 96 other proposals received. This contract confirms the
notification of award given Teknowledge in January 1998. Teknowledge's current backlog of
multi-year project commitments, including this contract, stands at $33M. Space and Naval Warfare
Systems Center, San Diego, Calif., is the contracting agency.

Teknowledge is a 16 year-old distributed knowledge management Company. It provides
architecture, design and software systems development services for government and commercial
Internet applications. Teknowledge's E-Commerce Systems business sells commercial software and
services for selling products on the Internet. Teknowledge stock is traded OTC under the symbol
TEKC.
