COMS is interviewing candidates for COO position, according to an article in today's SF Chronicle. Benhamou wants to have more time to devote to the strategic vision thing. It does seem that EB has been doing too many speaking engagements lately to have enough time to devote to day-to-day operations. Maybe this will turn out to be the start of a turnaround like Oracle's after Ray Lane was hired as COO.
