I hate flames, and I don't like to get religious about products, but I had the opportunity to test several GBE vendors products(excluding Bay) a while back and I gotta say, the plaintree was a piece of crap. Router accelerator is not routing in the true sense of the word, that is it still requires a real router so by your logic looks like Plaintree can't scale without routers either. Also the router acceleration is a highly centralized architecture meaning that the backplane gets hit pretty hard and scalability is limited.

The best thing I can say about the Plaintree 9200 is that it is heavy. About 9200 lbs!

Looking at your other posts, I can see why you take this position, but I'm willing to bet that plaintree is nowhere near Nortel's 1st choice.
I agree that Bay's channels are attractive to NT, but there's also IP expertise which a potential acquirer will be looking to integrate into their existing product line.

In other words, take off hoser, aye.
