Christine the saddest realization I have seen is how many good well intentioned people, trying to imrove themselves and society, wind up conned by the evil leaders to the point they defend vigorously, things they have not verified and refuse to listen. One poster on this thread who fits that perefectly is PZ. From other correspondence he impresses me as a sincere honorable person. He is apparently very intelligent, however, he has gotten angry with me for my posts here thinking I am insulting his God. I even sent him a very personal book of my life and religious experiences that I had written for my children. I wrote this knowing full well they would find it in their later years after I was gone and realize some of my lifes hard lessons. He didn't read because was too long. Wasn't as long as most pocket books. I sent him contradictions in the bible and he had no answers but his Ego could not admit it. Our work here is not going unnoticed. Although owning slaves isn't tolerated, our country still has slave labor wages while the Bill Gates accumulate wealth such as the empires Kings. Slavery is still fighting an uphill battle. And slavery still exists under a new alias known as capitalism, where the government takes from the poor and gives tax breaks to the rich. And under the guise of religion, the Christian right is controlling political policy for the benefit of a few. Here in Nasville our city has built a new sports arena and a new NFL stadium for Bud Adams out of the taxpayers money while children have to attend school in portable classrooms with insufficient air control. My house taxes have doubled in the last six years he has led the city. At the same time Senator Frist and his family D/B/A Hospital Corp. have been given millions in tax breaks. They padded the medicare bills out of taxpayers money and got caught. Many of their executives all over the country are being sent to jail. Hundreds of fast food places were set up here on municipal bond backing. That interest comes from the taxes of all residents for the benefit of the corporations. From the history I have read, some slave owners treated their slaves better than we taxpayers. AND I AM SUPPOSED TO BOW DOWN TO THIS AND KEEP QUIET AND PAY THE CITY WHAT IS THE CITIES, AND THE CHURCH WHAT IS GOD'S? Seems to me a place I don't to go is something with a price tag outta sight. I'll leave this Heaven to the believers.

Chrtistine - Thanks for the message. I totally agree with this statement I think it is really difficult for people to understand each other, and hopefully get along, until there is some kind of open communication and basic understanding of each others' belief systems. I think people feel threatened by that which they do not understand. Islam seems obscure and anti everything when put on T.V. I'm glad to see you have an understanding of what's needed. I just wish everyone could be as open minded as you are... Thanks! Ray
