The good news is the bottom is only another 7-8 points away, the upside is "infinity and beyond." Boy, I like that risk/reward ratio. Ok enough of that crap, Longs, the road to salvation will not be an easy one (that's if we ever get there). It seems we are in a stock that can do no right. Here are a few issues I can think of holding this stock down. (Mind you, the following are my perceptions about how the Street views the company and not necessarily my opinion.) 1. Suspect Mngmt. 2. Suspect Mngmt. 3. Falling scripts 4. effectiveness of product 5. Suspect Mngmt. 6. More drugs coming to market 7. Possible plant complications (where is that approval?) 8. Did I mention suspect Mngmt. I think if the company can overcome #'s 3, 4,6, 7, then #'s 1,2,5,and 8 will take care of themselves. (How's that for insightful? <g>) We are in a time where people will react faster and stronger to bad news than good news. VVUS has a lot of proving itself to do and until it does, I don't expect much. This stock will not rebound until we see scripts turn around significantly. I don't think FDA approval will do much for us at this point. Most people are concerned with the product and its effectivenss. Who cares if a company can produce a useless product at a cheaper price? So, until then, forget about it. I'll tell you, this company and the rest of us have underestimated the effects Viagra was going to have on VVUS. The company is about to have its 2nd negative quarter in a row. In the next few months, we need a snowball effect with good news instead of bad, because if the company proceeds to operate like it has for the 1st half of '98, we won't see a first half of '99. I apologize for sounding bleak, but I guess I am not the happiest dwarf in the bunch. I haven't sold any shares, but wish I lightened my load at fifteen the last time, like I told myself to do. Oh, well, there is that hindsight. I think the next time we see fifteen, it will be on our way up. (Oh, please let there be a next time.) Long and limp, Colby
