Hooligans - yes, afraid so.
I found a fellow called a Neighborhood Resources Officer. He came out and gave the boys a talking-to, and things were better for a week. But then the Cuty in its infinite wisdom came by and mowed the weeds in the strip adjacent to our house. That evening, the boyz start building a ******* bike ramp right adjacent to our fenceline. I called the cops. Nothing happened.
Next evening the boyz were back in the middle of the lot. They were messing around with shovels and lighting firecrackers in the pit. Another neighbor called this one in.
An hour later Spouse came home and I helped her with the groceries. The boyz jeered loudly at us and said "the cops came and we're not in trouble!" They also have begun calling us... nicknames, I think.
I spoke to the N'hood Resources officer yesterday. He's sympathetic to my plight, but he told me that when parents asked him what would happen to their precious progeny if they went back to the lot, all he could do was say "nothing really".
So until the fences go up, I have to put up with those noisy, rude wiseasses playing "king of the hill" next door.
