Smart Investor,

<< Leave the MSFT and INTC alone, they have done more good to this country than all the people in FTC, all the lawyers, and the loser companies combined ! >>

Wow, what a statement!

I'm not arguing for their break up. As I said, Intel has got enough competitors to keep it honest well into the next millennium (Read the article I pointed to in an earlier post). But the jury is still out on MS.

Here's a question for you: If MS is allowed to buy the internet browser business (as many people believe it has done) from a (financially) weaker competitor (which, by the way, is the innovator, not a 'loser'), then how is this different from how the Japanese and Koreans bought out our consumer electronics and DRAM industries? To me there's no difference. It's predatory capitalism, and, as of the last time I looked into my high school civics book, it's also un-American.

Len,

PS. No reply needed. I won't get into a pissing contest with you, and I'm too busy to take on straw men.

And what easier way is there for the gov't to slow down the economy than to nag away at MSFT and INTC...?
