Ed:

Forget about nextel being weak, it is only following the market and consequently will not head higher until the market bottoms. However, I would add, with the market closing off its lows, nextel did recover. This may only be the actions of the mm trying to unload more stock to Al and Fred.

Ed, I can only look at the risk/reward potential of N. How much further can it go down when all its numbers keeps going up AND will continue going up for the forseeable future? Then I look at how high it can go up for the next several years (at least) as it becomes cash flow positive and finally profitable. I then look at the potential of my other holdings and keep adjusting my portfolios accordingly. Although N is by far my largest holding (ever, may I add), I'm still pretty well diversified.

Bernie, only long and willing to wait. It's gonna happen guys!

ED: I agree, the stock is weak, but the market is scary also.

If the down trend continues I might sell tomorrow and cash out in order to get some piece of mind. I looked back at what I saw today and was not happy. Nextel below 23 is very scary to me. I also noticed, like you guys have, that it quickly rebounded from 22 7/8 to 23 9/16, hope that means something.<VBG>

I don't know if you guys feel like me, but, every day at 1:00 I start hoping that the next morning will come and be better than today. My subconcious is also saying in the backround, Al get a life without the stock market. No stock looks good now, mostly all that I follow have fallen below their previous 52 week low, if Nextel follows suit then, everything holy is turning to crap, right in front of us.

We need some good news, the market needs some good news. I hope the money managers are choking in all their cash, and because they are not investing, have many disgruntled investors. I already know what their excuse is for poor performance, Asia. Wrong, it's excessive worry due to their low self esteem and thier need to feed the media with excerps indicating lack of fundamental financial expertise. Our country is in good shape, will continue to be in good shape, we don't have problems with soft money.

Ooops, better stop here.

Al G., at present, sufficiently mixed up, just like the market.
