The comparison is valid. The analysis is open to interpretations.

The last time VLSI's P/S was this low they were loosing money, taking big write-offs, facing poor PC chip sales and still reorganizing to focus on wireless and digital entertainment. That's over. Now, do those conditions equate with two quarters of basically flat results?...

And Intel has lost their monopoly until they can get the Merced out.
