Yes, I stand corrected. (I did a little research) As I understand it, Preferred stock would not impact EPS.(preferred shares are not counted as outstanding shares when calculating EPS). Issuing preferred stock is very similar to issuing bonds. IF what I have said is true, all NTBK should have to do is issue some preferred stock, which in turn should not effect the stock price. They will have to pay a dividend on the preferred stock, but if they invest the money that was received because of the issue of stock, if should offset the dividend.
