I'm not sure if the market has realized this: Dell keeps moving to #1 while CPQ has problems. Perhaps Dell is taking market share from CPQ and others.

PS: The negative, then positive, then negative anounments and the confusing remarks (from analysts who know?) that confuse investors, seem to have the effect of churning the market.

UP & DOWN, UP & DOWN: I'm turning green; getting seaaaaaa sickkkk!

Hi Alan,..Re:<<DELL is subject to it's peers and to the general market.>>

I think sometimes we tend to forget that, especially when we've had weeks of some nice advances. Also, Dell's beta, I believe 2.2 over the last 36 months, amplifies market activity which makes for some awesome swings. And even though some of us hold this long, it doesn't hurt to pay attention to market activity overall. I just wish I had nerve enough to write some covered calls, but upside swings are just as dramatic.

Overall market is not looking healthy. I'm speaking from the interest rate perspective now. Even though Greenspan didn't tip his hand in Europe this morning, dollar strength seems to be underpinning rates currently, (except for this afternoon late when bonds got some S*P $s). Just observing currencies, rates and SP8M low of 1077.
