some of my mutual fund holdings are high risk. i've done some research into weeding out the ones that fall "hard" during a market downfall, but i think they will all suffer on mkt downturns.

i still have my non-ira mutual funds.. those are definitely no sells.

many fund managers do not hedge - i have seen funds down 30% in a couple of weeks - take a look at Fido's electronic select for example or some aggressive growth funds.

ibd has a nice section each day feature about 6 funds that rank A+ to A- in its ranking in the past 36 months. one pc of info there is how much is the 2 most downside % loss in past 5 years - you would be amazed to see many of them is into the 30-40% area.
