>> Intel has said that it has not changed its guidance for Q2.
This does not mean that they WILL NOT preannounce. I remember about six months back when QNTM or WDC rumors were circulating nad the companies denied they wer going to pre-announce. Yet aftet 2 weeks they DID preannounce. Maybe they didn't want to validate the rumors at that time.

Fred,

What I am referring to is the recent earnings "revisions" by the analysts. Intel hasn't "officially" changed it's guidance for Q2 becuase the analysts have done it for them. Therefore the analysts have warned by about $0.05 on behalf OF Intel. Intel doesn't have to say anything now, because most estimates are $.05 lower than 2 months ago..

Do you understand what I am trying to say here. Intel DOESN'T have to warn. No need to now that the analysts have revised their estimates w/o Intel's guidance. They'll make the new numbers (maybe, with 5-10% like you said).
