[ Moving Averages, Fibonacci's, etc. ]

Here is an example of the effectiveness of some key moving averages.

From my June 3rd post:

Market momentum has continued to deteriorate, but is approaching the 89 day moving average support, which is around 1077 for the S&P 500.

The low the next day was 1078.1; the 89 dma was 1078.3 for June 4.

...and from a Private Message to Dave Horne late Thursday night:

...When I magnify my charts, I see a potential stand taking place first at the ~1657 level, then if that were to fail, to 1636. However, there is an important Fibonacci-based retracement that exists near 1714...

Today's low on the Nasdaq was 1715.71.

I was still off though, but one might be able to say that the forecasts were generally accurate. TA has some advantages, some that will continue to go unexplained by the pure-FA types.
