<< craig, i wished that I could have kept cien till today >>

Me too. I wasn't long CIEN going into the merger announcement. I guess the only consolation is that I sold my TLAB a couple weeks ago a tick below 70, so I got to scoop it up (via CIEN) cheaper today.

<< however, do you think it is expensive to pay 7bil for a 600mil in rev company? >>

Nope.

<< do you think the mergers will work out smoothly not like coms, asnd and bay in the past. most of those companies including cpq has been beaten shortly after their mergers >>

I think the merger will fare better than those that you listed. There is risk however, so I will buy some now and reserve some for later if the street doesn't react all that well.

You know what I would really like? To see C$CO make a competing bid for CIEN, boosting the shares so I could sell, and then buy TLAB back on the cheap. Maybe C$CO will go down if they do that and I can buy them on the cheap too.

The bottom line? CIEN, C$CO, and TLAB are all companies that I want to buy on the cheap! Whatever combination gives me a 10-15% discount excites me.
