(LSI will recover by August and the sector definitely will show strength by the fall. LSI [w/o PC exposure] will be one of the first to turn if they produce decent revenue growth this q and says things are going fine.)

Re: What is so special about LSI in August?

Suspect that whereas in Feb semis went up in anticipation of things are not going to be so bad and then the March earnings warnings sent everyone into a tail spin, this time everyone is doing the opposite and jumping off to not get scathed. While this is justified for some of the semis they have definitely overdone it with some others.

This means (I think) that come July, esp. for a company like LSI, things will not be as bad as the market is indicating in general and after some i/t trepidation we will get a big-time rally.

Depending on how the stocks go we may have to wait until post FOMC july thing (non-event to me).

Uncertainty has led to a buyer's strike as someone has posted. However as I said a couple of days ago there has been a lot of destruction even though the indices have not shown as great a decline as one would have expected (the big cap effect). At the first sign of a lessening of deteriorating conditions the stocks will surge (most went down on very low volume - so not many sellers in the drop off area).

Shane (n/t depends on INTC warning or not, then next event is how much recovery in June - ideally I would not like an INTC warning and some consolidation for the sector in June.)
