The download process is very slow. I started about 20 minutes ago and only have about 14% so far. I'm not sure if the slowness is on my end (very possible; I'm accessing through a community college so lot's of bandwidth competition) or on their end (possibly a lesser expensive, lower speed connection to the net) or somewhere between and betwixt the two end points. Sure do wish it was faster. I've already evaluated my own PC and know what the results should be (using products from NSTL and Survive 2000's freebie).

I aborted my download. It was just taking too long. I'll restart it tonight after all of the east coast folks have gone to bed. Should be less net traffic then, and I'll get a faster response time. I was down to about 500 CHARACTERS per second and slowing at each measurable pass on the download. At that rate I'd have been waiting for over 2 hours for this thing to complete. I do have another life, I think, I hope.
