As the Smart Monry article said...."This sector is not for the faint at heart."

Perspective:

The high level of activity in the oil patch goes on unabated. Someone forgot to tell all these companies on the Southwest Louisiana Gulf coast that oil will soon be a useless commodity (g).

El Nino has changed our climate this year in Louisiana. It is hot hot hot. Triple digit heat indexes every day. The electric cos are generating at August peak levels. I hope a lot of the gen stations are oil fired. It is going to be one long summer. If we have any winter at all this year, domestic oil demand should be way up. This oil surplus problem may take care of itself.

The situation in the middle east will not stay stable for long.

The cheaper oil gets, the more we will use. The oil prices won't stay down for long. The oil supply will have to be constantly replenished. Drilling will be needed to accomplish that.

Long SLB, VRC,RIG,PKD,GLBL and FGII calls, and giving myself a pep talk to help ease the pain as we get killed on the short term.

Good Luck, Chas
