My experience in Engineering school was that brains were pre-eminent. Unfortunately for us, the women had most of them. Two of those women were not only bright, they were waitresses at the local Playboy Club. I'm always enchanted by people who think engineers are male and sexist. I wish people would get a grip. Engineers are no further out of touch with society than anyone else. It does no good that women perpetuate this outmoded thought, as women are included in that group of people who strive for excellence in the field of engineering.

AV--We all have our failings so I admit to my own. This engineer was always (and probably still is when his wife allows it) more taken by looks than brains. However, after succumbing to the charms of the fantastic and beguiling looks I would still need to further distill the field of play to include both looks and brains (and a great sense of humor). One without the other just wouldn't work. As we all know, the physical attributes seem to betray all of us as time marches on. Therefore, as shallow as first appearances are or were, you don't have anything without the mental attractiveness. Prescription for disaster, a trophy situation with no substance. I am very thankful that mother nature and the higher authority have been able to create the beauty that surrounds us in the flora, fauna, and female. All works of art to be appreciated and not abused. Quickest way for a smile is to see a very pretty sight. [For the dirty inquiring minds it was face, figure, muscle tone, legs in the physical dept and sense of humor and brains in the mental dept.] I have to say this since my wife is looking over my shoulder now and has reminded me that I was a pathetically sex starved engineer when we first met that she took pity on. I can look (occasionally) but never touch or else suffer the wrath of you know who<GGG>. When it comes to PAIR and QCOM, you are correct in your response that xDSL and CDMA are worlds apart. However, I am not looking at the beauty of either xDSL or CDMA but rather the brains of the engineers and the strategy to outsource the chips and some of the hardware. It's like the car salesman, it doesn't matter if its a GM, Ford or Chrysler but rather the ability to sell a bunch of ICs surrounded by plastic and some sheet metal with the gift of gab and the perceived sex appeal of the vehicle. The allure with PAIR is the mystery of what attractive new things they may develop and seduce you with down the road. On a more serious note, do you really believe that the split up of TBR will be much like the results of the second ATT breakup into NCR, LU and T??? That seems real sexy to me and could seduce me into a relationship with this Latin bombshell<GGG>. Andrew Time for a cold shower!!! BTW-if G-d had not intended for women to be so stunning and exquisitely beautiful, he/she would have have made women look like men. I shudder to think about that cruel possibility. I do not think I could kiss someone with a mustache or beard. Women are like expensive streamlined sleek sports cars or exquisit wines. With few exceptions (obviously those male members of our community) men are Garbage trucks or rancid muskatel.<GGG>
