John, I'm long in AVEI and holding. I've been tempted to trade out and in with the recent movement but I think there is upside potential in the future. Short interest appears to be coming down some.

I also like the fact that GDT sees price competition. I suspect that AVEI can compete more favorably on price than GDT. So I saw that news as bullish for AVEI and a potential growth of their market share.

I am concerned that the recent merger will cause a charge to earnings for this quarter but I think that should be limited to less than 10 cents if it happens. There was also a large payoff to the exiting CEO (is that his title?). So these things may hit earnings this time around.

Another factor that I want to watch is to see how they handle this growth. Hopefully, they keep a tight control of the business. COS seems in good shape so far. They do seem to offer a good place to work. Fortunately, a tightening labor market may force some limits on how fast they can grow the labor pool. I'd rather see sustained growth than an all out hiring frenzy.

With the softness in the market you may want to hold out for another dip for a buying opportunity. I will be thinking hard of selling in the mid 30's anticipating another dip in the near future.

Regards.
