News Today: Atna Resources Ltd. -- Fox Claims, Southeast Yukon Business Wire - June 04, 1998 09:18 %ATNA-RESOURCES ATNAF ATN. %MINING %METALS V%BW P%BW -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- VANCOUVER, British Columbia--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 4, 1998--Atna Resources (OTCBB:ATNAF)(TSE:ATN.) is pleased to announce an agreement with Cominco Ltd. for the option/joint venture of Cominco's Fox Property located in southeast Yukon. The Fox claims are contiguous with the Wolf Property where Atna is earning a 65% interest from YGC Resources. Last fall Atna's discovery hole intersected 25 metres of massive sulphide grading 6.9% zinc, 2.8% lead and 138.6 g/t silver on the Wolf Property and has an aggressive exploration program planned for this year. The Fox claims cover the northwest extension of the favourable massive sulphide/barite unit located on the Wolf Property. Results from an airborne EM/Mag survey carried out over the properties in 1997 show attractive conductors on the Fox claims. Atna can earn a 49% interest in the Fox Property by completing $1 million in exploration expenditures (including 4,000 metres of drilling) over 4 years. Atna can increase its interest to 80% in the property by spending an additional $1 million in exploration expenditures. Cominco can exercise an earn-back right by spending two times Atna's expenditures in excess of $1 million. Atna has committed to spend a minimum of $150,000 on the property this year. Exploration will commence on the Wolf Project this month. A diamond drill is on-site. The overall exploration budget for this attractive belt of volcanic rocks is $900,000. I met Mike W. at the Gold Show and he was really on top of the Selinium Situation. He didn't agree with my theory that the low lead will ( less than 8 % lead at an Iceland Claim I studied about the enviornmental impact and new re opening of the mine with newtech- it was on the edge of the sea and had to be closed down a decade or so back-now re opening) will help to mitigate the Selenium influence because he was focused on it showing up in the Lead and a few other elements...I still think science will give a newtech solution! There is some Selenium in some China/ Mongolia calim areas in news releases I read at TNM last year and they are dealing with it effectively. Chuca
