Does anyone know how Alcatel buying DIGI will affect the contract Westell & DIGI has with Bell Atlantic? Could this be why we didn't get much of a pop on the news today? Isn't ALA and WSTL sorta in compitition with each other?
Just trying to make sense of it all
Thanks

all--

a couple of notes on the ALA/DIGI deal...

could WSTL be purchased? yes, but IMHO it is unlikely. why should ALA put out money when it can simply partner with us.

does this mean we can expect no further support from DSC? no, ALA looks as if it is moving very agressively into CO equipment, i dont think they really care all that much about DSL. few realize that they took loses on the JPC, and are unhappy with how slow JPC RBOCs have been. of course, the JPC RBOCs are unhappy with them. maybe partnering with WSTL eliminates the problem.

at first this looks bad, but when you really think about it, it isnt all that negative to WSTL. but, we have to see what happens next. this may spur LU into buying WSTL.

i simply can not believe ALA is paying that much for DIGI. i'm not complaining, but it just seems a little rich.

good luck to all,
trey
