Thanks, TG. Now carrying that a step farther. With an example of a company with 100 shares of stock, but which has 300 shares illegally shorted. Since the buyers of the 300 illegally shorted shares of stock are the the true owners of the stock, then we suddenly have created 3x the original amount of shares ... each one now a legitimate share owned by a legitimate shareholder.


What if there were an Annual Meeting? Would all 300 shares get to be voted?


Sounds like a neat takeover strategy to me <grin>.


Somewhere ... somehow ... the system needs to discriminate between the original shares and the created shares. I'm just playing "what if" to try to understand the system better. Thanks for your help.
