Turboe, you may be able to find an M16 (not sure if you can get it in semi only), but the M15 is the "improved" rifle that readily available in semiauto. New quality rifles are available from Colt and others who now call it a match gun (politically correct) without the flash suppressor and the other nasty nasty <VBG> assault rife components (~$1,300). I don't own a .223, but have an M1 30-06 and an M1 .30 carbine. The carbine recoils like a .22 with ~2000 fps 110 gr. bullet, a great gun. Not sure if I'm too old to accept plastics on a AR15, or too cheap to buy new reloading dies and components. <VBG>
