David:

SYNT, in fact was downgraded on March 11 by Prudential,
which in my opinion has little or no relevance at this point.
After the downgrade, the stock had a tremendous run up.

I guess I know how to read:

Syntel Inc. Downgraded
The Motley Fool - March 11, 1998 12:46
SYNT V%MFOOL P%TMF

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
March 11,
1998/FOOLWIRE/ -- Information technology staffing services supplier Syntel
Inc. (Nasdaq: SYNT) fell $4 3/4 to $34 after Prudential Securities cut its
rating on the company to "hold" from "buy."

My question was whether the recent news can overcome the downgrade, not whether there was a downgrade. Good thing I told you; you were apparently unaware that it happened.

Joe.
