Big open. Somebody's playing around.

Ah but, carriers are exploring numerous alternatives to tap datacom/internet. Bleeding dollars from a proven (high cost) technology like ATM (and sucking money away from our pockets). Sprint runs something like three or four parallel networks (LD voice, business FR, packet/IP, and ATM). They are talking here about collapsing everything onto a single infrastructure, ATM. Very risky, but a big step and no other really big players have done that (although it has been a dream for a while). A bunch of techs compete for mindshare, so to speak. Ether variants and Frame Relay dominate corporate life. To get the herd to turn around to bring ATM into Fortune 500 companies, I would think we need more strong statements (and actions) that say ATM is the core of the network. Of course this doesn't lead to immediately huge spikes in PMCS rev (although more new box manufacturers may sprout up and the race to add ATM interfaces onto EVERY box that is out there may accelerate).

100% growth per year is very nice (unforutnately, it has not been corporate rev growth. Yet.).

I think about 150-200% growth is feasible. Box manufacturers have to start driving down their prices to creat the trend. Pressure on PMCS margins will increase but vol should more than make up for it...
