but you have to concede my point. The vast majority of the PCs out there runnign Linux were bought with Windows on them. This is due to the illegal practices of Microsoft.

Obviously its not a Dell, Micron, Compaq etc. I recently bought a new Micron and checked dozens of vendors if I could buy a system without Windows. I found none. I did find a local clone shop willing to assemble a system with whatever OS I provide them.

I'm curious, you bought a system with a clean disk? To "burn" the PC in did they just use DOS? Or did they reformat the drive for you?
