That's a bit of a head-scratcher...the article says that
there is a 10% over-supply, and then it says that a 12%
reduction in supply (if it is indeed that much) will
double prices.

Oh, that's right, if the Japanese fall in line as well. With a dollar buying more yen and Japanese goods every day, Japanese DRAM is getting cheaper, which means that DRAM buyers for whom price is king (and this is a commodity business) would try to do more business with Japan instead of Korea.

Hmmm, I wonder why Korea is cutting production to try to raise prices for everybody, and whether Japan will go along with it. :-)

DJ
OK ! OK !
I'll increase the "upper bumper" from 28 to 28 1/8 (g)
As mentioned some time ago, The Federal Reserve studies
show a J-CURVE effect on counties that drop their currency.
Korea just does not have it any more ! As time goes on they
will "starve for many years" due to need for capital.....
....or that is what the Federal Reserve studies show....
Pigs,Hogs and DRAM always seem to find their way back to
balancing SUUPLY/DEMAND sooner or later......
And Skeeter will always be right 1/2 of the time (g)

DJ .... Koreans cutting back on production, price to hike 2 times ... rolling on the floor laughing, what a riot, these Koreans have a sense of humour, or maybe you made it up, great stuff. Maybe Steve A. will send out Kipp to tell a similar story ... 'uh we're cutting back production for one week and prices should double ... Oh BTW, demand is strong' ... these guys need a laugh and hey, it's only an inventory correction.

regards, Mike
