Exactly, pure and simple. If anyone thinks of java as hype it only makes sense to forget it exists. But since MSFT is really worried, it's a different story.

My response was not meant as a political attack. It was substantiation of information that you called into question in your post to Dwight. My use of the term "Java hype" may have been unclear but referred to the yet to be delivered promise of "write once, run anywhere" as evidenced by the compatibility tests that matter to customers, applications.
