Jim,

I thought the functional block diagram of the MXi showed a modem block. I think they are planning on a combination of a soft modem with hardware assist, but I don't know.

Jim, the USR shared-memory WinMODEM uses up about 50% of a P133's processing cycles. Since you're not likely to need a ton of CPU power while surfing the Web, the loss of 66MHz from a 233-300MHz processor shouldn't be significant.
