TRIN shows whether volume is flowing into advancing or declining stocks. The calculation is the ratio nof up issues/down issues divided by the ratio of up volume/down volume. If more volume is flowing into advancing stocks than declining stocks, the TRIN will be less than 1.0, if more volume is flowing into declining stocks the TRIN will be greater than 1.0. A TRIN of less than .80 is an indication of stronger buying bias and a TRIN of greater than 1.20 is an indication of greater selling pressure.

Lisa indicates a 5-day cumulative closing TRIN of greater than 6.0 indicates a bottom is close and you should be buying. I cannot remember what her sell signal number is for the 5 day cumulative.

PS - yes, I took most of the above out of a book! :)
