Anixter apparently is not confused on the future. Remember they also
sell 3Com, Ascend, IBM, Fore and 100,000 other products. As for
competition between the channel and direct sales, understand
that same issue can be said of Bay's existing relationship with Anixter or any other VAR. The key here is what was a mainstay
for Bay is now eroding further. Anixter's sales force has been screaming for an agreement with Cisco, due to their customers wanting Anixter services with Cisco products.
