Charlie

I may miss something

Vendors and contract wins

Initial deployment

BEL(largest telco in US)=wstl/dsc
JPC=(Bellsouth, ameritech, SBC, not sure of the number of lines)=ALA
Uswest=netspeed/CSCO
Pacific=open
GTE=(second largest)Orctf/fTOJ

What's next

Awards for a DLC solution
New awards for DMT

ALA or no ALA do you think BEL is going to stall deployment plans because of ALA?? Do you think ALA would burn BEL to screw wstl..
Does it make sense to use wstl dslams and use ALA DLC solution??

Anyone chime in..

I know I need to be corrected somewhere on this

ALA does NOT have a working DMT ADSL DSLAM as of yet and NO CAP! Yes ALA beat out WSTL with low pricing but has yet to deliver and that is why BC is still ordering from WSTL and why some of the JPC's may be coming back to WSTL via LU... IMHO

It still comes down to ALA/DSC vs CSCO/Netspeed vs LU/WSTL...that is it!

charlie--

lots of announcements, but few real deployments from ALA. trust us, their equipment is not ready for prime time. why else would little WSTL get the BEL contract?

good luck to all,
