Larry - MU trades on it's own!
Time 3:48
Since 1:50,
Dow up 65
NAS up 11.5
SOX up 3.2
Micron, unchanged at 23 9/16.
It will be close, but MU may get white candle.

Memory Buffs - need your Help!

I think I want to get some 4MB x 3 simms (70 ns ?) for an old 486/33 machine I have at home. Was quoted $12 a piece for eight at a local PC store. Seems high. Where's the best place on the web to look for a better price?

TIA
tippet

Larry

Wouldn't they have to pay a substantial premium to make some of the big holders even close to whole? Plus what about the American pride thing -- all this anti-asian sentiment expressed whenever prices go down faster than usual? How much does Simplot hold right now?

And what are they going to pay for mu? 4 BILLION? I doubt it. It was a good day today for the traders. It was a meaningless day for the bears. October puts will pay off handsomely. Good luck.

larry, japan has made dumb investments before but buying mu for $5-7 billion would be super dumb. btw, after spending $5-7 billion do you really think they would mothball mu? think about it. larry, you could receive $400-$500 million in very secure investments just by deciding NOT TO BUY MU.

there are too many fabs no matter who owns them. they are so expensive that they MUST run.

that is why this business is so vicious. YOU CAN'T WALK AWAY WITHOUT COMPLETELY GIVING UP - hence the term no limit poker game.

mu becomes a buyout target at $4 (and dropping rapidly).

if you didn't know before, now you know.

>>(3) Japan dram companies buy out Micron <<

The exchange rate in this type of deal would be a killer and that would make the acquisition price extremely high. But hey, you have to remember that the great wisdom of Japanese managers is to overpay 3x for everything that needs fixing. So yes, it's possible that the Japanese would be dumb enough to buy MU.
