If nothing else, the diet that Christine prescribes is certainly healthier. If she feels that it helps her achieve a higher spiritual plane, It is not for you to determine she is fooling herself.

Terrence, animals who are being killed for food live their last moments in sheer terror. The chemicals their bodies produce when they are in this state become part of the meat we eat. It also doesn't make much sense to me to love and care for cats and dogs as pets, but slaughter animals like pigs who are also very intelligent and capable of bonding with humans.

As I very carefully said, I am not suggesting that anyone become vegetarian. I think pushing belief systems on other people is not often helpful, and there are sometimes when I crave a big juicy steak just like most others do. I am just saying that I feel less aggressive when I do not eat meat--that for me, I have found some benefits. And I feel closer to nature at the same time, more sensitive somehow to the general flow of life around me.
