That is incorrect. A pots splitter attached to a WSTL ATU-C card splits the 0-4Khz frequencies and sends the corresponding POTS signal to the voice switch--which could be a 5ESS or another manufacturer. The 5ESS is transparent to the solution, it does nothing. Just making sure you know which end is up.
