Somewhat off topic but an interesting read:

Anyone hear anything about the DOW 10K bug?? We've all heard about the Y2K (year 2000) problems with computer systems but this DOW bug can really bring shivers to my spine!

The problem is similar in scope to the year 2000 problem since the stupid computers, operating systems and application software were designed to track the DOW averages in 4 digit increments. When the DOW finally reaches 10000, most computers that track it will think it is at 1000 (or 0000 depending on the system). This, of course, could trigger all types of sell orders followed by legitimate panic.

Hopefully this is nothing more than a hoax but you never know. Maybe I'll start dumping when the DOW gets to 9900 and keep my distance until we get over the hurdle. <gggg>

Any comments??
