Vlad,

Could you explain briefly what would happen with a buyout. Suppose the shares were 8$ and Astra offered 16$. What does that mean exactly in relation to our shares, do we lose them but get paid 16$ or what.

I WILL now make serious effort to get feedback for you from UK.

DaiS

When does the AUA meeting end? I hope it is soon, I can't take it anymore. I want NINA back in her office, I want Leland back in his office and everyone else back fielding our damn calls. I want them launching a major VVUS PR blitz. I want the stock above 10. I want The FDA to pull Viagra off the shelves. I want a hot fudge sunday with nuts and ... Oh, I'm sorry, I digress.

OK, fine. I'll settle with an update. Does Leland have put options or something? You know, in the midst of things, there were some positive articles on VVUS (England article and China article) that w/o the help of certain SI posters, I would never have seen, which leads me to believe many might have missed them. Unfortunately, a small dog has to fight to keep his fire hydrant or the big dogs will kick him off the block. I'm afraid instead of a bulldog running the show, we have a limp COCKerspaniel.

Pass the baton, VVUS mngmt.,
Colby

P.S. I am thinking about counteracting the present situation with a bunch of unsubstantiated and false rumors. Here's my first one.
"Leland to step down as CEO of VVUS. He will be replaced by the former CEO of PFE. Since the recent decision of the FDA to pull Viagra off the shelves, the CEO is out of work. Apparently he will bring with him his entire PR staff and the not yet approved pipeline of drugs PFE was working on, estimated to have a value of $1 Billion. In reaction to todays news, 12 houses including the 3 largest in the country have all come out with SUPER SUPER STRONG BUY ALL OF IT YOU CANS on the stock. It looks like this Rhino is heading for triple digits tomorrow!"

Good point. Are you assuming that future sales will be decrease?

VLAD:

I just deleted a huge response to you, filled with things like communist plots, Pfizer shills, illegal shorts, undercover payments to Reuters, phantom pills in development, and all the other reasons I would be nervous were I a VVUS long, which I aint.

Instead, I'd like to take a calm look at the facts:

Quarter 9803(1) 9712(4) 9709(3) 9706(2) 9703(1)
------- ------- ------- ------- -------
Revenue 27.5 32.9 39.1 33.5 32.8
Seq rev growth -16 -16 17 2 NA

Reads right to left. Sequential revenue decline of 16% each of the last 2 quarters, and only a complete fool would think this quarter is going to be better. I don't think there is any disagreement that revenue will be down again this quarter, is there?

Now, what happens the other 2 quarters? I believe it is your intention that VVUS will buck this trend and the selling will continue. That's why you're in the stock, that's cool. I do not have emotional ties to the stock, only my own beliefs and the anecdotal evidence from my wife, who is a pharmacist. She hasn't sold any MUSE in 4 months. Granted, she never sold much before then, either.

I hate the fact people have lost a lot of money here. I'm long PFE (I've never had a position in VVUS) and it may turn out I eventually lose money there myself, but for my own personal reasons I feel safe in that particular investment, despite its rich multiple.

I'm under water in VNTV, KEA and ATHM at the moment, and many of you would look at those stocks and say, "what the hell is he doing investing in that crap?" much the same as I know people say to you. To you I say, back up your investment. If you feel good about it, this is a buying opportunity.

Good luck to all.
