Bob, I understand the philosophy behind hedging, but I don't agree with doing it. If I've got a good bet, why dilute my profits by hedging? Seems to me the idea is to attempt to make good investments (god knows not all will turn out that way), and if you make more good investments than bad ones, you'll win. But if you've got a winner, why hedge??? That's just my gambling philosophy. In sports gambling, if a gambler has a big lead at halftime, he'll often hedge by betting the opposite side at halftime. I say just win the initial bet.
