U.S. FTC to vote on Intel antitrust matter June 8

WASHINGTON, June 4 (Reuters) - The U.S. Federal Trade Commission Thursday set a
meeting for noon (1600 GMT) on Monday, June 8 to vote on antitrust action against Intel
Corp.(INTC - news).

The FTC's official ''sunshine phone'' recorded message announced the meeting had been set
to consider an ''enforcement action.'' A source had earlier told Reuters the FTC would be
voting early next week on the Intel matter.

The FTC has conducted a month's long investigation of Intel. If the five-member FTC
commission Monday approves a staff proposal to file suit, it is expected to then submit a
relatively narrow antitrust action against Intel.

However, the FTC will continue to investigate Intel to lay the groundwork for possible broader
action later, sources have said.

Intel declined to comment at this time.

''We don't have any comment,'' said Chuck Mulloy, an Intel spokesman. ''We will wait after
they vote on Monday.''

Paul, <Why don't you ask how many people bought Intel at $10,...>
Do not try to escape, slug. I don't ask you why because
it is IRRELEVANT. You still don't get it that there
is a big difference between 9 years ago and 9 month ago.

<..bought AMD at $48 listening to your hype?> Bashing the
Intel monopoly is not equivalent to hyping AMD. It is
linked only in your paranoidal mind.
