I doubt the consolidation will happen around Amat... I think it has rather committed itself to organic growth uy its huge expenditures on internal expansion in the past four Q's... I think that it is more likly that consolidation occurs around others like NVLS KLAC LCRX as they seek to prevent AMAT rummbling over them on the rebound, and expanding into their areas... I do think, as I both me and EK have said previously, that AMAT would be attractive to GE if it got cheap enough.... and that this is perhaps the only short term + for the stock (save that it gets really cheap)
