As a non-engineer I can say that although Ciena is a great company with great people - are they really worth $7B??? The made 120M in N.I. last year on 500M in revenue. I guess considering the Yuri purchase perhaps they are, but I think $7B is an inflated number for Cien and I'm not sure Cisco is willing to put up that kind of money for a layer 1/2 company. I think Cisco would rather use that money to further penetrate the legacy telephony networks. Could Cisco purchase Tellabs now???

John

there is still talk that csco could go after tlabs. Although the ceo said he would fight any offers. I own both csco and tlab, if its makes them more competitive I would like welcome any deal. If this did happen it may be down the road as tlab has a lot of settle down with two takeovers. imo John
