Looked at the 1-day chart and saw that the volume increase started at 3 p.m. when the stock price began to rise.

Probably an alert for momentum buyers. Something that surges on huge volume surge might continue to climb for a while.

By the way, Astra is said to be offering 10 billion for Asta-Merck Venture, so it can be set to enter merger talks. Should be announced in a couple of weeks. Merger mania might fire up the big pharma's for the next week.

B.REVERE, the " PFE acceleration " IMHO may very well end up being a suckers rally. There is a significant amount of Institutional Money invested in PFE and thus at this point in time none of these folks is prepared to see a 25% drop in price caused by the recent relentless reports of people dying in ERS while taking Viagra. So they keep buying to support the price.
Question is who will be left holding the bag when the music stops playing?
