Paul,

Actually, it was M31, not I, who used the term "proactive" in

exchange2000.com

And I don't believe he made the word up. It's been around for a good while already now. C'mon - you've heard it used before.

I do agree with Harry's point though. The Merced postponement and subsequent investor disappointment might have been tempered by the increased yield and early release news in the C|NET story.

By the way, we've been discussing the story that ONLY CNET seemed to carry today. Never heard the story mentioned on CNBC today and I was listening for it all day.

For all the Intel bashing that you've attributed to C|NET, I hope they got their facts correct today.

Maybe some other reporter (or retired ex-Intel employee) will follow up and get some more information for us soon on the increased yield story (and what it means for 3Q98 & 4Q98 profits). Hint!

Barry

Paul,
If you can send your post to Andy Grove, I believe, it would be of great help at this point in time.
Regards,
Jules

Paul re: "If I was Grove or Barrett, I'd get OUR MONEY out of C|NET in a G*DDAMN HURRY and let those Keyboard Jockeys sink like a submarine with a screen door."

C/Net is one of the better tech news sources on the web.
Having "OUR MONEY" in this service seems rather classy to me. They aren't creating the news, just reporting it. You can usually find the same news by surfing around the web, but C/Net makes it very convenient. From the points you made, I think it's as much a marketing problem.
Looks like you want your news the same as you want the contributors to this thread, just Intel cheerleaders. ;-)
But most of us are investors, and want all the inputs, good or bad.
BTW, C/Net had a very positive article on IBM and Intel today, I guess you approve of that one.
