To the "thread,"

I noted on a wire service last evening that in May, Motorola offered more than 5000 employees at its cellular phone manufacturing plants in Libertyville and Harvard the option of taking up to three months of unpaid leave this summer as the plants gear up for production of digital equipment in the fall.

This is interesting counterpoint to later commentary by Mr. Galvin (quoted in the morning's NY Times) that the new digital phones would be out in the *third* quarter. As everyone recognizes, the "fall" is essentially a fourth quarter timeframe.

Thus, it is clear that there must have been an on again, off again character to MOT's decision making process regarding the date of digital cell phone introduction. This would certainly go a long way in explaining the fact that TFS twice started and stopped delivery of the three programs that ended up affecting second quarter results.

Anyway, if we are now looking at "third quarter" rather than the "fall" it appears that the time frame has been pushed *closer* for initial component LCD deliveries.

I think the telecommunications company is going to be playing its heart out for the home team (TFS), and it is clear that the cell phone introductions...now likely to be in the market by August at the latest...will require late June and early July shipments for the manufacturing process to lead to timely production and distribution.

It is all coming together. We will be shipping in *very* short order.

Have a good evening.
