I smell an IPO...

Dump the board inventory (perhaps layoff some systems engineers), say you're a multimedia chip company, and issue an IPO.

This is exactly what Cube did when they went public. I was one of those system engineers they tossed aside.

DALLAS, May 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Voxcom Holdings, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: VXCH - news) announced today that MAXpc Technologies, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary, and Chromatic Research, Inc., have reached agreement whereby MAXpc has acquired the exclusive rights to manufacture and market the high performance multi-media add-in card based on the Mpact-l chip and Mediaware developed by Chromatic.

The agreement provides for MAXpc to purchase all product in inventory of Chromatic of the Mpact-l card and thereafter to exclusively manufacture and market.

On April 23, Voxcom Holdings announced that it had acquired MAXpc Technologies, Inc., which has the manufacturing and marketing rights to the Chromatic multi-media add-in card.

''The expansion of this agreement now gives us the exclusive rights to this technology without any competition,'' stated Lawrence R. Biggs, Jr., Chairman & CEO of Voxcom Holdings.

''The Chromatic card has more features and power than any other card on the market, and includes Full Motion Video Capture & Editing, DVD movie playback, and H.324 Videophone over standard phone lines, and greatly expands the functionality and performance of today's computer systems at a competitive price. These cards can be assembled into computers during manufacture or added to existing ones. MAXpc will sell the cards to OEM's as well as directly to consumers via its website ( maxpc.com ),'' said Mr. Biggs.

''The new PC market for 1998 is expected to reach in excess of 80 million units, of which more than 50% are expected to be built by the OEM 'whitebox' or 'build to order' manufacturers. MAXpc is targeting this market and believes that the retail price of $399 is very competitively priced. Additional sales should be derived from upgrades to existing PC systems,'' Mr. Biggs added.
