Dancing Hitler sells potato chips: Advertising Ad Featuring Dancing Hitler Causes a Furor in Thailand By PICHAYAPORN UTUMPORN Staff Reporter of THE WALL STREET JOURNAL BANGKOK, Thailand -- The Thai television ad depicts Adolf Hitler eating "X" brand potato chips, and then being transformed by a voodoo spell into a good person. The ad closes with Hitler stripping off his Nazi uniform and dancing, a Nazi swastika morphing into the logo for the Thai potato-chip brand. This week, after days of outcry from critics including the Israeli Embassy in Bangkok, the agency that created the campaign, Leo Burnett, recalled it. The agency said in a statement that the ad "was never intended to cause ill feelings."
