A Network is not necessarilly ethernet.
Ethernet is not an inherently shared media. Ethernet and Token Ring both had full duplex operation in their original spec.
Your defintion talks about Ethernet. Our point was that there are many other Networks which are not ethernet.<<

I agree with everything you said above. But, you knew this was coming, just like people use terms like facial tissue <-> Kleenex and copy and <-> Xerox a document interchangeably I was using the terms ethernet and network interchangeably as we had been only discussing connecting 3 PCs in a home office network. I agree strictly speaking I, we, shouldn't use these words interchangeably but many people frequently do.
