Vladimir:

<<Do you have @Home or Time Warner's data-cable available as alternative? Would you tolerate bandwidth sharing and quality of service from cable cos, as opposed to BEL?>>

Adelphia offers up to 7Mbs shared for $39.95/mo. in some areas overlapping BEL, and TCI will offer the same in the fall.

<< BEL's initial price point of $70 per month for 640Kbps plus $200 for a modem plus
$99 for installation is a non-starter here in Pittsburgh. >>

<I agree with you that the price seems to be quite high for consumers, but is not bad (just IMHO) for businesses which a renting T1 lines at much higher rates.>

Oh, I wish I had your problems. Just be thankful you're not over here in PacBell country where you're charged $89/month + $125 installation + $600!!! for a modem for 384kbps/128kbps...

Oh, to live in Pittsburgh (I didn't ever think I'd say that :))
