Scott: The BBx is evidently taking a cat nap since the last I heard from it was the signal right around 10 EDT. I should have posted the points just a little bit ago to Electric but I was still grinning to myself about the "old days" and the easy money ....ggg Before I get to the SPX points let me suggest that the entire thread reflect a tad bit on the sports arbitrage bet..... The line out of Vegas which is now printed in most all newspapers has negated the "stealing" that my employee ( and I ....) used to do on the national teams..... but the money is still there for the taking on local high schools and colleges.... I'll give you 2 examples --- (true stories) Texas A&M and U of Texas are bitter rivals as a TxTech alum, I don't hate either, I just pity them.....ggg but back to the story.... 2 doors ( that's an E Tx way of saying 2 houses) away from me the resident is the owner and pres of a local bank who is a Horn.... 3 doors and across the street from him lives a doc and is an Aggie. The aggies and the longhorns play ( different sports) probably a dozen times a year, but in Texas there really are only 2 sports worth mentioning ----- football and spring football practice ---- so this only works for the fall meeting ---- every year they both are full of school pride and really really really hate the other team, not each other, but there is no rational conversation that happens between them concerning the upcoming game..... here comes the arbitrage....... say the line is aggies minus 7 as I speak to both of them several times a week, I do my best to stir them both up about the upcoming big game with the ags and the horns......... and if I can't prod each of them into betting with me ...... (and I make sure MY bet is based on a spread that exceeds the Vegas spread by at least 7) , then I feel that I've failed in my mission..... 3 years out of 5 ----- I win both bets........gggggg no way to lose NOW ---- -----this is much easier to do and I hope that all the thread will try this --- local high schools ---- we have 3 2 of them play each other every year....... intense rivalry between them..... there is NO PUBLISHED LINE If I fail to get at least 20 bets with a minimum of at least 7 points (where I can win both)....... I've had a bad go of it........ 3 years out of 5 ---- I win 20 bets no way to lose A year or so ago, some of this kind of talk came out on the Z thread and I told the Zfolks I wasn't a gambler -------- and I'm not ----- but I'm not adverse to picking up a tad from the foibles of human nature.......ggggggg Regards ---- Nemer BTW , Scott ---- the opening game for the Pack, ya'll have the opponents so much at a disadvantage that I'll take the others ....
